Candidate moves on from three leadership roles in May 2023

NEW HAVEN, CONN. (June 1, 2023)–VFW Connecticut Junior Vice Commander Candidate Charles Pickett has completed three, multi-year terms as leader of three organizations last month.

Pickett has moved on from being commander of VFW Connecticut District 2, VFW New Haven Post 12150 and American Legion New Haven Post 210 in May 2023, clearing the way for his candidacy for VFW Connecticut Junior Vice Commander.

Pickett said “replacing himself” in the three roles was the hardest part of running for a state-level position. “It took about a year and a half to prepare the groundwork, let everyone in the three organizations know my intentions, provide mentorship and guidance, and have more than a few conversations,” Pickett said.

Pickett had been VFWCT2 Commander for four years, Post 210 for five years, and VFW Post 12150 for the past three.
