WINSTED, CONN. (FEB. 24, 2023)—The Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Connecticut District 5 has endorsed a Post-9/11 veteran for a state-level leadership position.

VFW District 5, covering Litchfield county, has endorsed VFW New Haven and District 2 Commander Charles M. Pickett to be the 2023 Department Junior Vice Commander. He was unanimously endorsed at the February 24, 2023 monthly meeting at VFW Post 296 in Winsted.

Pickett is now endorsed by 14 of 18 past department commanders and four of six districts in the state as the campaign seeks to secure the nomination well before the June Department of Connecticut convention.
